A Medical Qigong session takes about an hour. The client lays fully clothed on a massage table while the practitioner works with the subtle energies ("Qi" or "Chi") of the body. The practitioner works mainly in the energy fields of the body and will occasionally touch the body. A session is very relaxing and people generally leave feeling emotionally "lighter". We work to clear out negative trapped emotions, beliefs that don't serve us, and trauma at the cellular level.
Medical Qigong is a form of Ancient Chinese Energy Medicine. "Qi" (or "Chee") means life force energy or vital energy that flows through all things, and "Gong" ("Gung") means cultivation or work. So in Qigong, we work with the life force energy of the body to bring the body back into balance and allow the body to heal itself. As in acupuncture, the practitioner works with the energy anatomy of the body, including meridians, chakras, and the biofield (or aura) around the body, as well as the energetic organs of the body. Trapped emotional energy, generational patterns, and belief systems that don't serve us all reside in the organs and energy fields around our body. When we remove those energies and replace them with pure divine light and earth energy and frequencies, the body is then free to bring itself into balance. Just as with any natural treatment that relies on the body's ability to come into balance to heal, it generally takes several sessions to see long-term changes.
Processing generally takes about three days and the client may feel really great and "lighter", or they may experience some emotional release. Both are good signs and the client can facilitate healing by drinking plenty of water and resting. Our bodies are made of 70% water and the energy moves more easily if we keep ourselves hydrated.
